Science Graduate Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large Secondary school in the Cramlington area of Northumberland. The school are currently recruiting for a team of Science Graduate Teaching Assistants to join their Science department, on both full time and part time basis.

The position:

  • Full time and Part time Science Graduates required
  • Supporting pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis in the Science department
  • Covering Science lessons with pre-set work in the absence of the class teacher
  • Working directly alongside the Science teachers to develop activities
  • Gain invaluable experience prior to starting PGCE

The school wish to appoint Science Graduate Teaching Assistants with immediate effect in order to implement support in the Science department prior to the examination period. All Science Graduate Teaching Assistant positions will initially be offered on a temporary basis for one term, with the opportunity to gain a fixed term contract following this.

With 1,300 pupils on roll, the school is significantly larger than average and due to this they are always looking for extra support on both a full and part time basis.

Our partner Secondary school and can be accessed via public transport - it is also reachable via all main roads from Newcastle and Northumberland.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
