Science Graduate - Unqualified Science Teacher - Immediate Start - Manchester

Full-time Science Graduate required (all specialisms welcome to apply) to work as an unqualified Science teacher from January 2020 until the end of the academic year in the first instance. The responsibilities of the incoming Science Graduate will involve delivering pre-set Science lessons across Key Stage Three and Key Stage Four, monitoring attainment and supporting the Science teachers with intervention for all pupils. 

Teaching Personnel are working in collaboration with a large secondary school situated in central Manchester to support with the recruitment of a full-time Science Graduate. This position will commence from January 2020 and will be offered until the end of the academic year. The successful Science Graduate will receive support to apply for a teacher training programme, and will have the opportunity to partake in CPD and additional training throughout the position. 

Working within the Science department as an unqualified Science teacher, you will be required to promote the learning of incoming year 7 pupils  transitioning  in to secondary school, alongside GCSE students ahead of the examination period in order to bridge the gap between them and their peers.

-          Full time Science Graduate role - Manchester, January 2020 start. 

-          Must hold or be in the process of completing a Science specialist qualification.

-          Experience supporting young people in an education setting is not required but is highly desirable.

-          Opportunity to gain invaluable experience within the Science department before completing a teacher training programme 

-          Work 1:1, in small intervention groups and deliver pre-planned Science lessons with full guidance and support.

Our partner secondary school work in collaboration with a range of secondary schools and teaching schools across Greater Manchester, and have seen significant improvements in results in Science. The incoming Science Graduate will join a department of six experienced Science teachers and two Science Graduates, due to a departmental restructure - the school wish to appoint another Science Graduate. The school currently has 1,300 pupils on roll and with plans to expand, the school is now based within a new building with state of the art facilities. You will have the chance to work with a range of pupils with additional learning needs, and providing support to all mainstream pupils, through the Science Graduate role. 

The school is situated towards the north of central Manchester, and can easily be accessed via the M60 motorway. For non drivers, there are an abundance of public transportation links that lead to the school from neighbouring areas Oldham, Rochdale and central Manchester.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
