Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne 

Contract: Temporary (Opportunity to go perm)

Hours: Monday to Friday (8:30am to 3:30pm)

Are you a Science graduate ready to start a rewarding career in education? We are looking for Science Graduates with a passion for inspiring students and a keen interest in teacher training. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain classroom experience and receive mentorship, preparing for a pathway towards Qualified Teacher Status.

The role 

As a Science Graduate, the successful candidate will work closely with the Science department, supporting students and gaining valuable insights into classroom dynamics. This position serves as an ideal stepping stone towards a career in teaching, providing exposure to lesson planning, classroom management, and curriculum delivery in Science.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Science department with lesson delivery, preparation, and resource creation.
  • Support students in one-on-one or small group settings to help them overcome challenges in Science.
  • Develop a solid understanding of effective teaching practices and classroom management techniques.
  • Collaborate with experienced teachers, benefiting from mentorship and guidance to prepare for teacher training.

Ideal Candidate:

The school is looking for a Science Graduate who is enthusiastic about education and committed to student success. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a proactive approach to supporting student learning, and a genuine interest in developing a teaching career.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree in Science or a related field.
  • A genuine interest in education and a desire to pursue teacher training.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with a proactive approach to supporting student learning.
  • A positive and adaptable attitude, with the ability to work well as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
