Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Bolton from November 2025, following the October half term break.

This is a full-time, long-term position, ideal for a teacher with strong subject knowledge and a drive to inspire a love of English in young people. Whether you're an experienced teacher or an ECT, the school offers a supportive environment to develop your skills and make a meaningful impact.

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging and effective English lessons to students across KS3 and KS4

  • Plan, mark, and assess in line with curriculum and department expectations

  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work and enrichment opportunities

  • Promote a positive learning environment that supports student progress and behaviour

  • Engage in whole-school responsibilities and pastoral duties as required

What We Are Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher with UK QTS (or equivalent)

  • Specialism in English with the ability to teach up to GCSE level

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • A commitment to raising student attainment and encouraging a love of learning

  • Previous secondary teaching experience in the UK (ECTs are welcome to apply)
