Job Title: School Support Worker
Pay Rate: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour
Contract Type: Temp to Perm
Location: Skelmersdale
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Support Worker to join a specialist school in Skelmersdale supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with complex needs.
Role Overview:
You will be working closely with students on a one-to-one or small group basis, providing support in all aspects of their school day. This may include personal care, mobility support, communication assistance, and engagement with sensory-based learning activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with PMLD in their educational and personal development.
- Assist with personal care needs including feeding, toileting, and mobility.
- Implement tailored support plans in collaboration with teaching and therapy staff.
- Encourage independence and promote a positive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures.
Requirements:
- A background in support work or care is desirable but not essential.
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people with complex needs.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs throughout the school day.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced child-only DBS check.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
