We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Support Worker to join a specialist school in Skelmersdale supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with complex needs.

Role Overview:

You will be working closely with students on a one-to-one or small group basis, providing support in all aspects of their school day. This may include personal care, mobility support, communication assistance, and engagement with sensory-based learning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with PMLD in their educational and personal development.
• Assist with personal care needs including feeding, toileting, and mobility.
• Implement tailored support plans in collaboration with teaching and therapy staff.
• Encourage independence and promote a positive learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures.

Requirements:

• A background in support work or care is desirable but not essential.
• A genuine passion for working with children and young people with complex needs.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing needs throughout the school day.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced child-only DBS check.
