Graduate SEN Education Assistant – Specialist Provision
Location: Chorley | Full-time | £85 - £100 per day | Temp-to-perm opportunity

Are you a recent graduate looking to gain experience in the education sector? Do you have a passion for supporting young people with special educational needs? A specialist SEN school in Chorley is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate SEN Education Assistant to join their team.

This is a full-time position to start as soon as possible, with the potential for a permanent role for the right candidate.

About the Role:
You will work closely with experienced teaching staff to support children and young people with a range of complex needs, including autism, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, and communication challenges. This is a hands-on role that will suit someone who is resilient, compassionate, and eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support within the classroom

  • Assist with the implementation of EHCP targets and behaviour support plans

  • Help create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment

  • Contribute to pupils’ social and emotional development

  • Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has recently graduated in psychology, education, health & social care or a related field

  • Is genuinely passionate about supporting pupils with SEN

  • Is proactive, patient, and able to build positive relationships

  • Has some experience working with children or young people (voluntary or paid)

  • Is open to learning and developing their skills within a specialist setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
