SEN Support Worker


Pay: Competitive (Based on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Working Hours: 3-Week Rolling Shift Pattern

We are currently seeking a caring and committed SEN Support Worker to join a Residential Site in Ribchester, near Longridge. As an SEN Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in delivering person-centred support to children and young people with additional needs. You’ll work closely with colleagues and other professionals to ensure the young people receive safe, structured, and nurturing care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting individuals with daily routines, emotional regulation, and social development
  • Encouraging participation in education and leisure activities
  • Maintaining clear and accurate records
  • Promoting independence and life skills
  • Ensuring the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of each individual in your care

Working Pattern (3-Week Rolling Rota):

Week 1

  • Monday: 07:00 – 10:00
  • Tuesday: 14:00 – 23:00
  • Wednesday: 07:00 – 17:00

Week 2

  • Monday: 12:00 – 23:00
  • Saturday: 07:00 – 10:00
  • Sunday: 07:30 – 10:30

Week 3

  • Tuesday: 07:00 – 17:00
  • Friday: 07:00 – 10:00
  • Saturday: 07:30 – 10:30

This fixed shift pattern allows for a great work-life balance and helps build consistency for the young people we support.

Essential Qualities:

  • A genuine interest in supporting children and young people with SEN
  • Reliability and commitment to consistent care
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Calm, compassionate, and resilient nature

Preferred but not essential:

  • Experience in SEN, residential care, or support work
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
