Temp-to-Perm Opportunity

A supportive and inclusive secondary SEN school in Nelson is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with a range of special educational needs

  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering tailored learning plans

  • Help maintain a positive and structured learning environment

  • Support students' emotional, social, and academic development

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in education, care, or similar settings)

  • Patient, empathetic, and confident in supporting challenging behaviour when necessary

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for helping students reach their full potential

  • Relevant qualifications are an advantage but not essential
