Religious Studies Teacher
Due to an upcoming maternity leave, our client school are looking to appoint a qualified Religious Studies teacher for two terms, which could potentially extend beyond the end of this academic year.
The school are seeking a candidate with a passion for the delivery of the subject who will deliver engaging lessons to an attentive cohort keen to learn. The incoming Religious Studies teacher will be responsible for delivering Religious Studies at both KS3 and GCSE level.

The school is situated in the heart of Salford and holds a good standing in the community for the excellent work it does in the development of students, both socially and academically. Though smaller than the average secondary school, the school still feels well-established and fully equipped to deliver the very best for their students in terms of results and outcomes. The school recently underwent a change in leadership with a new Head being appointed who has continued to build on the previous Heads positive steps to help promote a strong climate for learning in which students are encouraged to succeed along with being given the necessary tools to do so.
The incoming Religious Studies teacher will be required to teach both Key Stage 3 and 4 groups, with Key Stage 3 covering a varied curriculum in which students will explore personal and cultural reasons for similarities and difference in values and beliefs for different religions. Key Stage 4 groups will work through the Edexcel exam boards offering which will build on the work and knowledge gained throughout Key Stage 3.
Applicants for the position of Religious Studies teacher will need to hold experience delivering RS/RE across 11-16 groups along with a relevant teaching based qualification. Though the overall behaviour of students is good across the school, the incoming teacher will need firm classroom management skills to ensure students are focused on their learning.
