Full-Time Teacher with SEN experience – Atherton

Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (with the potential to become permanent)
Salary: Pay to scale (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Qualified Teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs? We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced educator to join a warm and welcoming team at an inclusive primary school in Atherton (M46).

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in a supportive school community that values personalised learning and celebrates every child’s success.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
  • Proven experience or specialist training in supporting children with Autism and additional learning needs.
  • A clear understanding of adaptive teaching strategies and differentiated learning approaches.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with teaching assistants, parents, and the wider SEND team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of all pupils.
  • Foster a nurturing, structured, and positive learning environment that promotes confidence and independence.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies to support communication, sensory regulation, and social development.
  • Work closely with the SENDCo, external professionals, and support staff to monitor progress and adapt interventions where needed.
  • Maintain detailed records and contribute to personalised learning plans.
  • Support inclusion by promoting positive peer relationships and emotional wellbeing.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
