Teaching Personnel are pleased to present a great opportunity for a passionate HLTA to start at one of our partner Primary Schools in Wakefield from November on a full-time basis. This role is primarily until December but there potential that this role will continue after the Christmas break.
We are looking for someone who is flexible, and who can cover across year groups (this could be from EYFS to Y6). The role will involve supporting the class teacher in the morning within the classroom, then delivering lessons in the afternoon. You may also be required to work 1:1 with children or take small groups as well as covering the whole class.
This role is ideal if you are a Teaching Assistant in school and are looking to up-skill, or if you are a graduate looking for a route into Teaching. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the national curriculum and experience leading phonics schemes and assessments. This experience would be advantageous, but is not essential if you are willing to attend training courses that Teaching Personnel offer.
Our ideal HLTA will have:
- L4 Qualified Teaching Assistant or be educated to a Gradate level
- Maths and English (GCSE A-C or equivalent)
- Experience working in a school or nursery setting
- Confidence leading a group of children
- Knowledge of the current Primary Curriculum
