Intervention Teacher needed urgently in Scarborough!
Students in a wide range of ages and with varying degrees of learning difficulties are in need of specialised and personal instruction resulting in a number of special needs 1:1 teaching jobs being available. These positions are ideal for qualified teachers who are looking for a change of pace from traditional classroom settings. Qualified applicants will have QTS as well as SEN or SEMH experience and qualifications. In general, teachers will work in local community centres for approximately 10 to 15 hours weekly.
Our Client provides a service to students excluded from mainstream education for a variety of reasons, including medical reasons, behavioural difficulties and those who are underachieving and in need of specialist support. I am looking for an experienced teacher with QTS to work on a 1:1 basis with Key Stage 2, 3 or 4 students. Lessons are between 2 and 3 hours a day, during term time only.
The requirements for this post are:
- Delivering individual specialist education programmes to young people who are facing difficulty in accessing education
- Be creative and engaging
- Able to build a trusting relationship with the student
- Be committed to helping a student with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Issues
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status
- Ideally have experience of working with SEMH, MLD and Autism
Whilst in post the client can offer:
- A dedicated point of contact for additional support and assistance
- A full induction to the provision and detailed assessments on the pupil's background
