Job Title: Early Years Teaching Assistant

Location: Enfield, Greater London, England

Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £90.00 - £110.00 Per day

Benefits: PAYE

Job Duties:

  • Assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities for early years students.
  • Support children's learning and development by providing one-on-one or group assistance during classroom activities.
  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children during indoor and outdoor playtime.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organised learning environment.
  • Help with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Monitor and record students' progress and behaviour.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and provide them with updates on their child's progress.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Early Years Education qualification.
  • Nursery Nurse qualification.

Experience:

  • Prior experience working as an Early Years Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Experience in implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) is desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Knowledge of child development theories and age-appropriate teaching methods.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and engage with young children.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Experience in leading a nursery room is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications or training related to early years education.
  • First Aid certification.

Working Conditions:

  • This role is temporary and expected to work full-time hours.
  • The Early Years Teaching Assistant will primarily work in a classroom setting within an educational institution.
  • There may be a requirement for outdoor activities and supervision.
  • The role involves regular interaction with children, parents, and other staff members.
  • The Early Years Teaching Assistant must adhere to school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety regulations.
