Exciting Opportunity for a History Teacher in Denton!

Are you a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher seeking a rewarding role? Teaching Personnel is pleased to present a full-time position for a History Teacher at an Ofsted Good secondary school in Denton. This role is available to start in September for the full academic year, with the potential for permanency based on performance. The salary for this role is £30,000 to £46,525 per annum, in line with PayScale.

Role Overview:

As a History Teacher, you will inspire and educate students about the fascinating world of history, helping them to develop a deeper understanding of past events, cultures, and societies. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing History lessons in accordance with the national curriculum, ensuring that all students are engaged and motivated to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver stimulating History lessons covering a range of topics, periods, and themes, fostering students' curiosity and critical thinking skills.

  • Historical Analysis: Teach students to analyse and interpret historical sources, events, and perspectives, encouraging them to develop informed opinions and arguments.

  • Research Skills: Support students in developing research skills, helping them to investigate historical questions, themes, and topics using a variety of sources.

  • Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and development.

  • Behaviour Management: Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment by implementing effective behaviour management strategies that promote respect, engagement, and participation.

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues within the History department and across the school to share best practices, resources, and ideas for enhancing teaching and learning.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in History.

  • Strong subject knowledge across various historical periods, events, and themes.

  • Previous experience teaching History at the secondary level, preferably within a UK school setting.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.

  • Commitment to fostering a love for history, critical thinking, and historical literacy among students.
