Secondary schools in Essex are looking for Graduates who can fulfil the roles of Cover Supervisors and Special Education Needs (SEN) support staff to work within their schools. These roles would suit a confident graduate who has previous experience (in a voluntary capacity or otherwise) working with students, perhaps in a secondary school or youth work setting. The successful graduate will be motivated and able to converse, liaise and engage with people of all ages including pupils aged 11 - 16, fellow colleagues and teachers.
Highlights of the Cover Supervisor and SEN Specialist roles:

- Pay range between to £275-£350 a week - PAYE (depending on experience)
- Gain valuable experience working in a secondary school setting - to support a future PGCE application
The role of a SEN Support Assistant is to help 1:1 or small groups of students with different educational and emotional needs. The role requires someone who is patient, able to identify different needs and can adapt their approach depending on the pupil/pupils. You may be at various schools throughout the Essex area but the additional experience you will gain is invaluable.
The role of a cover supervisor is to deliver pre-set work in the absence of the classroom teacher. The role commands a certain level of flexibility as you may be delivering and supervising classes varying in size, ability and age. You may also be at various schools in the Essex area so the networking opportunities are not only endless but the experience you will gain is perfect for an inspirational teacher. The successful cover supervisor will be covering a range of subjects to gain a full 360 degree, well rounded experience.
