The School is seeking to appoint a skilled and inspirational Teacher of Science who forms effective relationships with students, parents and colleagues and has the skills and drive to ensure our students receive the best possible learning opportunities.
The school are extremely ambitious for their 820 students and have a strong vision to ensure that the life-chances of every young person are enhanced by quality teaching, leading to excellent outcomes. Science is identified as an area they are improving, results have risen to 57% of students achieving two good science GCSEs, although ambitions are much higher. Triple Science is running well in the department with all three subjects achieving in excess of 90%.
In addition, the school is a caring environment where all children are made to feel welcome and in which they are given the best possible opportunities to succeed.
As a teacher of Science at this school, the school would invest in you to ensure that you develop the skills and expertise needed to ensure those that you teach acquire skills vital to their future. All teachers teach in their own brand new state-of-the-art Science laboratories, equipped with projector and screen, and every teacher receives a laptop. They offer all members of staff a full induction programme and significant opportunities to develop their expertise. Colleagues at the school work together to support each other and we have an active wellbeing committee.
