Teaching Personnel are seeking Cover Supervisors to join our growing and successful Secondary Staff Team. We are always on the hunt for budding Cover Supervisors but in the current climate we are seeking staff who are happy to go into Secondary Schools for the Summer Term and beyond.
What is a Cover Supervisor?
Cover supervisors are suitably trained school staff who supervise pupils carrying out pre-prepared exercises when teaching staff are on short-term absence. The cover supervisor’s main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set.
This role can typical involve:
- Supervising / covering lessons already planned and set for a class
- Managing pupil behaviour for any class you are assigned cover with and implement schools behaviour policy if required
- Be flexible and able to provide cover across a range of subjects and key stages
- Be able to provide 1:1 support and answer questions about processes and procedures in line with the school policy
- Keeping pupils on task to complete their work
What qualities do you need to become a Cover Supervisor?
- Good communications skills
- Good Behaviour Management skills
- To be highly flexible
- To enjoy working with young people
- Passion for Education
- Charisma
Cover supervisors will have access to an online diary to manage their work availability. Work will be offered on a daily basis, and can be flexible but can also be offered on a full-time basis.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
