Youth Worker / Behaviour Support Assistants

A Primary Provision / Pupil Referral Unit in Bromley is looking for a Youth Worker / Behaviour Support worker to work with pupils on a one-to-one or two-to-one basis. A successful candidate will have the right attitude alongside some experience in order to meet the demands of the role supporting SEN pupils with Challenging behaviour. Most of the pupils have SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health), some are on the Autism spectrum, and most have learning difficulties. The pupils have behaviour that is of a challenging nature, therefore you must have a resilient and firm-but-fair attitude. Given that the pupils have been referred to the Provision as a last resort, it is essential that they are supported in the right way to be given the fairest and strongest chance at receiving an education. The role is for one-to-one intervention to start immediately and continue through the academic year, on a full time basis.

You must be able to support and encourage pupils to develop both academically and socially. Unparalleled behaviour management skills are a must. If you have a background in Youth Work, Psychology, Sports (coaching), Art and Design and Music then this role is ideal for you.

The working hours are 8:30am - 4pm, up to 5 days a week. The school are looking to train candidates with the right work experience and a resilient attitude.

You must have a DBS on the updated system, alongside relevant training, such as Team-teach Positive Intervention and Safe-guarding.

This role has weekly Pay and as part of your registration with Teaching Personnel, who are interviewing on behalf of the school, you will have access to regular training and CPD courses in your local area.
