About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join our Alternative Provision (AP) unit, working with a small group of Year 10 and Year 11 pupils on a GCSE pathway.
The cohort consists of up to 6 pupils with low-level additional needs, including:

ADHD
-
ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition)

Lower-level Functional Skills needs
This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and supporting young people to achieve both academically and personally within a nurturing, structured environment.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with GCSE and Functional Skills curricula

Differentiate learning to meet individual pupil needs
-
Create a calm, structured, and supportive classroom environment

Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement, and confidence
-
Monitor progress and contribute to assessments, reports, and reviews
-
Work collaboratively with SEN staff, teaching assistants, and external professionals
Person Specification
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
-
Experience working with SEN pupils, ideally within PRU/AP or similar settings
-
Strong understanding of ADHD and ASC
-
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
-
Patient, resilient, and flexible approach to teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
