Teaching Personnel are a Welsh Government Approved Employer across Wales!
- Looking for a challenge?
- Are you interested in a Monday to Friday based role with weekends off?
- Looking for an excellent rate of pay with additional benefits?
- Considering a career in the education sector?
Then we may have the role for you!
As we are currently seeking a teaching assistant to join our increasingly growing team of passionate educators at Teaching Personnel in Swansea.
Ideally you will have previous experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour and social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH).
The position is within a pupil referral unit (PRU) in Swansea and will be highly challenging, but will offer you great job satisfaction and sense of achievement.
The school is known to appoint individuals who aren’t phased by this high tariff of behavioural difficulties and have a keen interest in physical activities outside of work. This is because the school are happy for the successful candidate to take pupils outside to engage them in physical activity when pupils are struggling to engage in the work.
Particular personal or professional experience of supporting individuals with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) or Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) is highly desirable, such as an understanding of the complexities related to this. The ideal candidate would have a good knowledge of teaching and behaviour strategies relevant to this.
A Team-Teach qualification or relevant qualification (e.g. PROACT-SCIP/MAPA) are highly desirable, but not essential. Teaching Personnel also offer a range of CPD courses including Team-Teach, Introduction to Autism and Moving and Handling so don’t worry!
So are you passionate about inspiring and motivating SEMH pupils to access the curriculum? An understanding and flexible nature is essential, and the school is particularly keen to have candidates who are proactive, empathetic, engaging and creative. Candidates should use their personality to engage with these students. This is a fantastic opportunity to show what you can do and put your skills into practice and show how you can positively encourage all pupils to overcome barriers to learning which will be extremely rewarding.
Should you require any additional information regarding this role, or to apply for the position, please contact Chris your SEN consultant for an informal conversation or send a copy of your CV through.
Look forward to hearing from you!
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
