Position: Behaviour Support Assistant.
Location: Lostock.
Start date: Monday 13th May 2024.
Contract type: Full time (Mon-Fri, 8:30-3:30) ongoing role.
Pay rate: £12.82 - £13.50 per hour.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing 1-1 and general support to pupils with additional needs, tailoring the curriculum and daily structure to ensure they have a smooth and successful school experience. You will facilitate the child’s participation in classroom activities, promote social interaction and support their individual learning and development. You will be required to implement positive behaviour strategies and facilitate the child’s communication and language development through alternative communication methods.
Role requirements:
- Relevant experience supporting children with SEN.
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques.
- Empathy, patience and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
- Strong communication skills including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
This specialist provision in Lostock Hall caters for children across KS1 – KS4 who require additional support for a variety of needs including autism, speech, language and communication difficulties and social and emotional difficulties. The wide age range enables the provision to foster a family atmosphere in which the pupils feel valued and supported by each other and all the adults present. They deliver a highly differentiated curriculum through personalised learning and by celebrating progress, achievements and empowering them with knowledge, self-belief, like skills and strategies appropriate to their learning differences.
