Behaviour Support Assistant
Job description
We are currently seeking a compassionate and resilient SEMH Behaviour Support Assistant to join a year 5 class with complex behavioural and trauma related needs in Oldham. The school has strong focus on providing a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting students with academic and personal development.
This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is committed, empathetic and able to build positive relationships with young people who need regular stability and motivation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted interventions to aid pupils regulate e motions and manage behaviour
- Build trust and rapport with pupils to improve engagement and attendance
- Work alongside school teaching staff to encourage positive behaviour strategies
- Provide regular behaviour and pastoral assistance to pupils
- Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom
- Be committed to safeguarding and wellbeing practices across the provision

- Have experience working with pupils that require social, emotional and mental health support
- Be calm, approachable and resilient
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to manage behaviour positively and consistently
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
