SEN Secondary School Teaching Assistant – Oldham
We are recruiting a committed and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a specialist secondary school setting in Oldham. This role focuses on helping young people with additional needs engage with learning, regulate emotions and develop independence.
Key Responsibilities

Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support across a range of subjects

Support pupils with ASD, SEMH, communication needs, sensory needs or cognitive difficulties

Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning
-
Assist teachers with adapting lessons and resources to meet individual needs
-
Support EHCP outcomes, personal learning targets and transition planning
-
Encourage independence, self-esteem and social skills
-
Maintain clear records, observations and safeguarding information
Essential Requirements
-
Experience supporting children or young people, ideally in SEN or secondary settings
-
A patient, consistent and confident approach to behaviour support
-
Full availability during the school week
-
Strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries

Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and support staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
