Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working with special school in Oldham to recruit a calm, patient and enthusiastic teaching assistant to help support a 1 2 1, nonverbal child in year 4. The school requires you to be confident in behaviour management, adapt learning strategies and encourage positive behaviour.

For this role you should:

-          Be available full time

-          Experience working with challenging behaviour

-          Have knowledge and understanding of different special needs and communication strategies

-          Understanding of delivering tailored support through EHCP’s and behaviour plans

-          Team teach trained – willing to obtain

-          Demonstrate a nurturing and fostering relationship with pupils and staff

The school would like a candidate who is familiar with using communication strategies, confident in leading interventions relevant the individual learning plan and comfortable providing occasional personal care. Most of the time, you would be proactive outside the classroom, providing regular breaks and using quiet spaces around the school to encourage positive behaviour and engagement in curriculum.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
