A client school in Newcastle are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 3 with severe ASC. This is a full time position which will start after the Easter holidays and will run up until the end of the academic year.
This is a ‘GOOD’ Roman Catholic Primary School which prides itself on creating a stimulating, caring and supportive environment at all times and is looking for a compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their KS2 team. It is important that the successful applicant has a passion for supporting learning and adheres to the strong Roman Catholic ethos of the school.
The ideal candidate will be equipped to deal with challenging behaviours and emotional outbursts. The child has severe ASC so full time 1:1 support is required to ensure the child get the most out of their education. Academically, the child can access learning but needs additional support in targeted areas. It is important the child builds good relationships with the successful Teaching Assistant to ensure that they feel supported at all times.
To be considered for this post, you will:
- Have experience working with ASC
- Have experience dealing with challenging behaviours
- Be looking for a full time SEN Support role with in a ‘GOOD’ RC Primary School
The school can offer the right candidate the chance to work on to a school based contract. Continual support will be offered to the successful candidate from the schools SENCO and SLT.
