Teaching Personnel are currently seeking 1:1 tutors to facilitate the learning and development of Looked After Children (LAC) in Bournemouth
We work with a wide-range of Looked After Children in care who have a diverse set of needs. It will be your responsibility to support pupils in preparing for exams, during transition to a new area or new setting and to provide high quality education to support learning and ensure continuity and progression.
You will be working either in the school or at the homes of the children through the local authority. Mostly between the hours of 09:00am and 17:00pm. The core focus of sessions is to improve skills in Maths and English. You will also have a sound working knowledge of de-escalating challenging behaviour in order to meet the Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs of the young people.
Essential Skills:
- Understanding and appreciation of working with vulnerable young people and those with additional needs
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- Excellent time-keeping and organisational skills
- Flexibility to work part-time
