Situated in the Somerset town of Yeovil, this school provides education for children aged 4 to 19 with PMLD (profound and multiple learning difficulties), SLD (severe learning difficulties) and other complex needs. A high percentage of the student population also have a diagnosis of Autism.

This wonderful school are looking for Teaching Assistants to join their team. Being a SEN teaching assistant can be challenging, however it is extremely rewarding for anyone who wants to help children thrive in their education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Support students with academic tasks, including reading, writing, and numeracy, adapting materials and activities to suit individual needs.
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their independence and self-esteem.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to monitor student progress and contribute to the assessment process.
- Promote inclusion and diversity within the school community, respecting the individuality of each student.
- Support with personal care
Requirements:
- Relevant experience working with children or adults with SEN.
- A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the changing needs of students and the school environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
