Do you have experience working as a Youth Worker or in a similar role supporting young people?

We are working alongside a number of schools in the Rochdale area who require a Youth Worker to work within the schools as a role model type figure, supporting pupils on a 1:1 and group basis and encouraging greater engagement within lessons and reducing their risk of permanent exclusion from mainstream education.

• Full time position working within a number of schools in Rochdale and the surrounding area as a Youth Worker
• Get paid on a weekly basis up to £70 a day, dependent on experience and the needs of the school and the pupils
• Extra development training available to further your skill set and gain recognised qualifications for your CV

Working as a Youth Worker is a very rewarding, yet challenging role where every day will be different. You will be required to have exceptional interpersonal skills as you will be required to create close bonds with the pupils as you act as a role model and reduce their risk of anti social behaviour whilst encouraging positive behaviour and influencing them to stay away from gangs, drugs and violence. You must be able to cater for each pupil's needs individually as you report on their progress and create development plans alongside their parents, the teaching staff and social workers. Due to this a strong understanding of the key issues currently affecting young people is a must.
