A Primary Pupil Referral Unit in South Manchester require a Youth Work Teaching Assistant to support within the classroom supporting pupils in KS2. The role would require you to assist with pupils educational development, as well as a strong focus on their social, emotional and mental health needs. This is an immediate start due to the increase in pupil numbers within the first term.

The young people at this school can display challenging behaviours that are shown through verbal and sometimes physical aggression. Experience working with young people who display challenging behaviours is desirable and will benefit when working with the young people within the school. The school follows a team - teach method of de-escalation, this training is a mandatory requirement to work within this school, Teaching Personnel can provide this training prior to starting the placement if needed.

This school provides full or part time education for young people who have been excluded from their mainstream school. The aim of this setting is to successfully re-integrate pupils into mainstream school. In some cases, re-integration is not possible and pupils will spend their school time within this setting. This school allows specialised and focused support for young people who have social, emotional and mental health needs.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
