Year 3 Learning Support Assistant role (Cardiff)

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a friendly, compassionate and eager Learning Support Assistant for a very promising opportunity within one of our client Primary schools, located in Cardiff.

The ideal candidate must relate to children on an individual level as well as creating a fun, stimulating and safe environment (in association with the school's visions and ethos), whilst maintaining high standards of education.

The role :

You will be looking after a Year 3 student on the Autism Spectrum (low functioning) and with Social and Emotional Mental Health on a one-to-one basis. The child works better on the Year 1/Year 2 curriculum therefore the academic support would be an important side to the role along with a very nurturing and patient profile from the right candidate. You must be compassionate and eager to learn about Special Educational Needs, work well alongside the SENCo, and provide continuous support to the child in order to prepare him to fit in busier environments after Primary school.

This is a long-term position, 5 days per week (school hours). The ideal candidate must have previous school based and/or SEN related experience. Any certificates, diplomas or other qualifications related to a Education and/or Special Educational Needs are desirable (but not compulsory).

Located in Roath, this Primary school is situated in a central and diverse location of Cardiff, easily accessible. It has a warm and friendly atmosphere and has developed a great relationship with the residents in their area and the pupils' families, leading to a calm and stable environment, and therefore a fantastic educational record. The school prides itself in believing that every pupil is entitled to an excellent education, regardless of ability, and thriving each day thanks to their committed and passionate staff, to increase each pupil's attainment.

What else?

- You must be in possession of an up-to-date CHILD WORKFORCE DBS (registered on the Update Service) or willing to apply for one (full assistance provided).

- We are only able to accept applications from UK residents with a proven right to work in the UK. You must living in Cardiff and/or have plans to move to Cardiff in the near future and/or be willing to travel to the Cardiff area.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
