Primary Teacher EYFS/KS1
Job description
Primary Teacher
Location: Tameside
Job Type: EYFS/KS1
Salary: £130-160 per day
Start date: March 2026
Are you a dedicated Primary Teacher looking for full-time, long-term work or seeking a more flexible work-life balance to broaden your experience across different school settings? We are currently welcoming enthusiastic educators to join our supportive supply team, working with primary schools across Tameside and the surrounding areas. Through Teaching Personnel, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the progress and well-being of children within EYFS and KS1 in welcoming, well-supported school environments either on a long-term or day-to-day supply basis.
What does the role involve?
You will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that align with school expectations and the EYFS/KS1 curriculum, stepping in for both planned and last-minute absences, as well as long term bookings. You’ll need to manage the classroom confidently, create a positive learning atmosphere and adapt quickly to a mix of subjects, year groups and teaching approaches. Day-to-day cover often involves following pre-prepared lesson plans, though you may occasionally need to use your initiative to plan and deliver your own content. Ensuring strong behaviour management, supporting pupils’ academic and emotional development and maintaining communication with school staff are key parts of the role. Flexibility and commitment is essential, as work may be pre-booked, arise from early morning calls or be on a long term basis with a school.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking teachers with QTS and experience working across EYFS and KS1. Confidence delivering phonics is desirable but not required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive, adaptable attitude, effective behaviour management skills and the ability to deliver engaging lessons. You must also hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
What can you expect from Teaching Personnel?
Joining Teaching Personnel means becoming part of a friendly, collaborative team dedicated to supporting both educators and the schools we work with. We offer ongoing professional development opportunities, competitive pay reflective of your skills and experience and consistent support from your own personal recruitment consultant throughout your journey with us.
If you’re ready to take the next step in your teaching career, we’d love to hear from you.
