Job description

Are you searching for a rewarding and flexible teaching opportunity where each day brings something new? Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting supply teachers to work across primary schools in Tameside and the surrounding areas, supporting pupils when they need it most.

This role offers complete flexibility, giving you the freedom to choose when and where you work. It’s perfect for teachers who don’t want to commit to a full‑time position or those seeking more control over their weekly schedule. As you’ll be working across a variety of schools, you’ll need to be adaptable, confident, and comfortable stepping into different classroom settings. To be considered, you must be a fully qualified teacher with a strong understanding of the current national curriculum.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with experience teaching in primary settings and the ability to respond effectively to different pupil needs and classroom dynamics. Key responsibilities include covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher, delivering pre‑planned work, engaging pupils in learning, and maintaining a safe, positive classroom environment.

This opportunity can be tailored around your lifestyle, with both full‑time and part‑time options available. You can update your availability weekly, and we’ll prioritise placements based on your preferences and year group experience.

If this role sounds right for you, please get in touch and send over an up‑to‑date CV today.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
