Year 2 Teacher, Darwen

The Head Teachers and Governors of a primary school in the Darwen area are looking to appoint an experienced Year 2 Teacher to join and lead their Key Stage 1 team from 4th January 2021.

In order to be successful in your application, you must:

-          Be an experienced Primary Teacher with experience in a leadership position

-          Be assertive, organised and able to work well in a team

-          Promote a love and enjoyment of learning

-          Have strong behaviour management skills

Your role will include managing a team of two other Teachers and four members of support staff. The successful candidate will be effective at co-ordinating across the key Stage, ensuring standards are high and are being met. Approachability is important, as well as excellent communication skills.

Ofsted have graded the school ‘Good’ in all areas. The school leaders have created an environment where everyone feels valued and respected, and pupils’ safety and well being are a high priority. Pupils enjoy attending school and they have positive attitudes towards their learning. The curriculum contributes to the good progress that pupils make in a range of subjects and promotes pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding well.

The school is an average-sized primary school. A high proportion of pupils are disadvantaged and are in receipt of the pupil premium funding. The proportion of pupils who have SEN and/or disabilities is above the national average.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
