Year 1 Teacher – BLACKPOOL – JANUARY 2020 START
We are looking for a strong Key Stage 1 Class Teacher to begin a long-term role from January 2020.
Competitive rates of pay – potential permanent role.
The School:
This is a larger than average Primary School serving a mixed catchment area located in Blackpool. The school is easily commutable from surrounding areas such as Preston, Garstang, Lancaster and Lytham St Anne’s. The Head teacher is committed to whole school improvement and is keen to secure a teacher with a strong academic background, preferably somebody who has experience working within an ‘inner city’ school due to the school’s mixed catchment area.
The school have a well-established senior leadership team and have very few staffing changes. Behaviour in school is generally good; this is reflective of the robust behaviour management strategies consistently implemented across the school by all staff. The Head teacher encourages collaborative planning to reduce the teacher’s workload and develop best practice across Key Stage 1. The school follow Read Write Inc. Phonics, therefore experience following this scheme would be advantageous but not essential!
The Role:
This position has cropped up due to a recent resignation and the school are keen to appoint a teacher who would be interested in a permanent role. The school are looking for a teacher for Y1. The successful candidate will also be expected to undertake the full teaching role; planning, delivering and assessing the children in line with the local framework and the National Curriculum.
Candidates must hold a strong subject knowledge in all curriculum areas especially in Maths, Reading and Writing.
The pay and working hours:
The rate of pay will reflect the role and also the level of experience of the successful applicant. It is expected to fall within the bracket of GBP100-GBP130 per day, based on a 6.5 hour working day. To confirm also, this is a full time role to start from January 2020. The expectation is that the role will continue until July 2020 with the view to extend into the 2020/21 academic year onto a school contract.
How to apply:
To apply for this role, you must hold Qualified Teacher Status. You must also be experienced in KS1 and be prepared and committed to raising standards in the classroom. The school are keen to secure a teacher who will work collaboratively with the staff team and share the whole school community ethos.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
