Job description
1:1 Tutor – Sunderland and Surrounding Areas
Teaching Personnel is currently seeking experienced and compassionate tutors to deliver face-to-face tuition for vulnerable pupils in Sunderland and the surrounding areas. We are looking for individuals who can commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week, with flexibility and potential for increased hours based on need.
As a 1:1 tutor, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering tailored educational programmes that meet the individual needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver personalised learning plans
-
Conduct baseline assessments to determine current working levels
-
Work collaboratively with residential staff, Social Workers, and other Local Authority professionals
-
Deliver engaging, creative lessons to maintain student engagement
-
Provide emotional support where necessary and act as a positive role model

Show commitment to the educational progress and wellbeing of each young person
We are looking for someone who:
-
Has experience working with students who have SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs
-
Is a fully qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS)
-
Is confident working independently and professionally in multi-agency environments
-
Is passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
