Job description

A school in the Southampton area requires a Teaching Assistant to work on a temporary basis, beginning in January. As a teaching assistant, you will be responsible for helping maintain supportive classroom environment for witin all areas of SEN.

Your Role will involve:

  • Working within the classroom to support the teacher.
  • Working with small groups within the classroom, helping to promote learning.
  • Helping to maintain the early years development.
  • Working with SEN students to help promote an inclusive classroom.

The ideal candidate will need:

  • To be able to multitask and work under pressure with a different range of students.
  • Be confident, friendly and pro active.
  • Have experience working in a school environment.

Ideally you will have previous experience working with pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
