Teaching Assistant required for SEND School in Durham

Job description

An OFSTED graded "Good" SEN school require a Secondary Specialist Teaching Assistant to work from September until December 2018, although there is a possibility the role will be extended until the end of the academic year. The position has arisen as a result of an unexpectedly high pupil intake for the 2018-2019 academic year.

The school is situated just a 5 minutes drive from Durham city centre and is easily accessible from the A1 or using public transport.

An enthusiastic and proactive teaching assistant is required to assist pupils in their day to day learning and routines. If successful you will work with pupils with a range of learning difficulties such as MLD, SLD, Speech and language communication difficulties, SEMH, ASC and Physical and Sensory impairments.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Will be an experienced and well motivated TA.
  • Hold a relevant childcare qualification
  • Have a desire to work with committed team of TA's and Teachers
  • Have a passion for working with children
  • Have experience of working with pupils with SEN

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
