Teaching Assistant

Job description

Do you have experience of working with students that have hearing impairements or speech, language and communication needs for a school in the Stockport area. Some students may require you to communicate using British Sign Language, whilst others may be hard of hearing and tend to communicate more orally.

The Support Assistant role requires someone who drives and can be flexible. The needs of this job role may require you to be placed at 1 of 2 schools throughout the week, both which are very close to each other.

Required:

  • BSL Teaching Assistant, to support students in Early Years - KS4 with hearing impairements and speech, language and communication needs
  • 1:1 support role
  • Have recent classroom experience in the UK
  • Be qualified to at least BSL Level 2
  • Have excellent communication as well as strong literacy and numeracy skills
