Working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant is an excellent opportunity to gain further experience in a secondary school setting before enrolling on PGCE or similar teacher training programme, all whilst earning up to GBP1300 a month!

With full training given this is a great way for any recent graduates considering a future career in teaching. Your first week will involve you shadowing a more experienced Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant, learning on the job while you are given more and more responsibility every day, as well as this you will be given full access to Teaching Personnel’s  CPD courses to enhance your skills and qualifications. Once you have completed your first week you will then be given the opportunity to work on your own, delivering pre set lesson plans in the absence of teachers, as well as working on a 1:1 and group basis with pupils, assisting them in any areas they require additional support.

To be successful when applying for the role of a Graduate Teaching Assistant you must be:

-          A recent graduate in any of the following; English, Maths, Science, Geography, History, Religious Studies, Technology, ICT, Business or any sport related degree.

-          Have strong communication skills and be able to work with a wide range of people and age groups

-          Be able to work well in part of a team as well as being confident working on your own and using your own initiative

-          Have a passion for passing on your knowledge and making a real difference for young people at this important stage of their lives
