1:1 Learning Support Assistant
Location: Farnborough, Hampshire
Setting: Specialist SEMH & SEN School (Ages 4–16)
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
About the Opportunity
A specialist SEMH and SEN school in Farnborough is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to provide individual support to a pupil with additional needs.
The school caters for children and young people aged 4–16 with a range of needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and associated learning difficulties. With small class sizes and a highly supportive staff team, the school provides a structured environment where pupils are encouraged to achieve both academically and personally.
This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a pupil's educational journey by providing consistent support, promoting positive engagement, and helping them develop the confidence and independence needed to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team, you will:

Provide dedicated one-to-one support throughout the school day

Encourage participation in lessons and learning activities
-
Promote positive behaviour through consistent and supportive strategies

Assist the pupil in developing emotional regulation, confidence, and resilience
-
Support social development and independence
-
Accompany the pupil during lessons, breaktimes, and transitions
-
Liaise effectively with teachers and other professionals to ensure the pupil's individual needs are met

Contribute to a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service is desirable, or a willingness to obtain one prior to employment.
