Special Needs Teaching Assistant – September 2026 Start

Locations: Winchester, Andover, Basingstoke, Farnborough, Hook and North Hampshire

Pay: £14.25 per hour
Hours: Full-time (Term-Time Only)
Start Date: September 2026

About the Role

Looking for a rewarding role this September? We are recruiting compassionate, reliable, and motivated individuals to join specialist schools across Hampshire as Special Needs Teaching Assistants.

Starting in September 2026, you'll play a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs throughout the school day. Your responsibilities may include assisting with learning activities, promoting positive behaviour, supporting daily routines, and working closely with teachers and other support staff to help pupils achieve their potential.

Available Settings

SEN Schools
Support pupils with autism, physical or learning disabilities, medical needs, and communication difficulties.

SEMH Schools
Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, including anxiety, trauma, and behavioural challenges.

Who Can Apply?

We welcome applications from caring, patient, and enthusiastic individuals. No formal qualifications or previous school experience are required.

This opportunity is ideal for:

Experience in childcare, care work, youth work, healthcare, or support roles is advantageous but not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Requirements

  • A positive, patient, and proactive attitude

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
