Special Needs Teaching Assistant – September 2026 Start
Locations: Winchester, Andover, Basingstoke, Farnborough, Hook and North Hampshire
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Hours: Full-time (Term-Time Only)
Start Date: September 2026
About the Role
We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and motivated individuals to join specialist schools across Hampshire as Special Needs Teaching Assistants, with positions commencing in September 2026.
In this role, you will provide support to pupils with additional needs throughout the school day. Responsibilities include assisting with learning activities, promoting positive behaviour, supporting pupils with daily routines, and working collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Available Settings
Special Educational Needs (SEN) Schools
Supporting pupils with autism, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, medical needs, and speech, language, and communication difficulties.
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Schools
Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, including those who may present with anxiety, trauma-related needs, or behavioural challenges.
Candidate Profile
We welcome applications from individuals who demonstrate a caring, patient, and professional approach. Previous experience within a school setting is not essential, and full training and ongoing support will be provided.

An Enhanced Child DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one prior to employment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
