TEACHING ASSISTANT IN ALDERSHOT

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking Learning Support Assistants in the Aldershot and surrounding Hampshire area to work in SEN specialist provisions, catering for pupils with moderate to complex needs. The needs of attending pupils are varied, but may include:

• Behavioural difficulties
• Learning and physical difficulties
• Speech and Language needs
• Anti-social and disengaged behaviour
• Autism and ADHD

The Role:

Applicants will be working in a classroom supporting teachers and fellow Teaching Assistants on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis with pupils, as well as in groups. School hours are between 8:30 - 15:30, Monday - Friday. Full time is preferred but part time applicants may still apply, as job shares and day-to-day supply requirements can be available. 

The Candidate:

You will have previous experience working with complex behaviour and/or special educational needs professionally. Without professional experience any personal experience with the following will be beneficial:

• Youth/Community work experience
• Care worker
• Challenging behaviour within family
• Mentoring 
• SEN Experience

Applicants need to have a passion for mentoring pupils closely through their differentiated curriculum and various activities. Being able to work well in a team and build positive relationships with staff and pupils is essential. 

Teaching Personnel do offer many development courses through our CPD Academy; such as Autism Awareness, Safeguarding and Team Teach to help support any successful candidates within this environment.
