Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant
Start Date: March 2026
Location: Garston (L19)
Contract: Full-time, Term-time Only
Salary: £13.75 – £15.00 per hour

The Role
As a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with behavioural, emotional, or social needs.
- Use de‑escalation techniques and positive behaviour strategies.
- Work closely with the SENCO, pastoral team, and class teachers to promote a calm, supportive learning environment.
- Help pupils develop emotional regulation, confidence, and positive relationships.
- Support overall classroom behaviour to maintain a focused atmosphere.
- Record and monitor behaviour patterns, feeding into staff discussions and planning.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional, or social needs.
- Understands positive behaviour support approaches and de‑escalation techniques.
- Can remain calm, patient, and resilient when faced with challenges.
- Builds strong, supportive relationships with pupils.
- Works effectively as part of a busy, collaborative school team.
- Holds relevant TA qualifications or strong SEN/behaviour‑focused experience.
