Job description
Behaviour Support Assistant – Tuebrook (L13)
An exciting opportunity has arisen at a well-regarded primary school in Tuebrook (L13). The school is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join its KS2 department at the beginning of the new academic year. The role will begin on a temporary basis but has the potential to become permanent following a successful probation period, as intended by the Head Teacher.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting children who face behavioural and emotional challenges as they return to full-time education. Working either one-to-one or with small groups, your aim will be to help pupils reintegrate smoothly into the school and classroom environment.
You will work collaboratively with the Class Teacher, the school SENCo, and parents to identify and implement tailored strategies that best meet each child’s individual needs.
About the School
The school is proud to hold a GOOD Ofsted rating, offering a strong foundation for pupil achievement. The dedicated SENCo ensures that all pupils receive appropriate support both within and beyond the classroom, and you will be part of this nurturing and collaborative team.
A positive behaviour culture is well established, with pupils generally coming from supportive backgrounds. The school uses a range of evidence-based strategies—including positive reinforcement and targeted praise—to manage behaviour effectively. With significant funding for pupils with special educational needs and for those in receipt of Pupil Premium, the school is able to allocate resources efficiently and demonstrate strong progress.
The Head Teacher
The Head Teacher is highly respected within the local community and has successfully led the school for more than five years. Their leadership has contributed to a positive and welcoming atmosphere across the school, from Early Years through to Year 6, with pupils who genuinely enjoy their time in school.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will receive ongoing support from your line manager and have access to a range of professional development opportunities. The school places great importance on developing staff skills and ensuring they remain up to date with the latest curriculum changes and behaviour management approaches.
