ASC Support Assistant - Wavertree

Location: Wavertree (L15)
Salary: £14.25–£15.00 per hour
Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday

We are currently working in partnership with a local primary school in the Wavertree area, who are seeking an experienced member of support staff to join their team on a temporary basis. There is potential for this role to become permanent for the right candidate.

The role involves supporting a number of Key Stage 1 pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex additional needs, including managing behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with ASC and additional needs
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies and encourage active participation
• Work closely with teaching staff and the SENCo to deliver personalised learning plans
• Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to staff and parents
• Create and maintain a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting children with ASC and behavioural needs
• A calm, patient and empathetic approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
• An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
