Role Overview

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Croxteth is seeking a dedicated Speech & Language Specialist to join their team from April. In this role, you will provide tailored communication support to pupils with a range of speech, language, and communication needs, including non-verbal and pre-verbal children. Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and families, you will help build pupils’ confidence, independence, and communication skills through targeted interventions.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out assessments and create personalised speech and language intervention plans.

• Deliver high-quality 1:1 and small-group therapy sessions.
• Support pupils who are non-verbal or pre-verbal, using appropriate communication strategies such as visuals, AAC, and sensory-based approaches.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals to integrate communication strategies across the school day.
• Monitor and evaluate pupil progress, adapting plans where needed.
• Provide training, guidance, and resources for teachers and parents to ensure consistent support.

Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Speech & Language Therapist, Speech & Language Specialist, or experienced practitioner with relevant skills.
• Experience working with primary-aged pupils, including those with complex communication needs.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Availability for full-time or part-time work starting April 2026.
