Contract: Full-time

Phases: EYFS, KS1, KS2

Pay Rate: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour (DOE)

Are you a passionate Teaching Assistant with strong phonics knowledge looking to make an impact across a warm, forward-thinking primary school? We are supporting Prescot Primary School, a vibrant community school in Prescot, to appoint an enthusiastic TA able to support children from Early Years through to Key Stage 2.

This is a community primary school in the heart of Prescot, educating pupils aged 3 to 11 within a mixed-gender environment, maintaining a strong commitment to quality education, student safety, and active learning approaches.

Job Description

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, depending on school needs.
  • Deliver high‑quality phonics interventions and small‑group support.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers to create engaging and supportive learning environments.
  • Provide tailored support to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, behaviour support, and progress tracking.

Ideal Candidate

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience delivering phonics programmes (Read Write Inc, Letters & Sounds, or similar).
  • Previous work in a primary setting, ideally across multiple key stages.
  • A positive, nurturing approach to supporting children.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • A genuine passion for helping children thrive academically and personally.

Prescot is extremely well connected to Liverpool and surrounding areas:

  • Direct trains run from Liverpool Lime Street to Prescot, taking as little as 12–19 minutes, with frequent daily services.
  • Direct buses operate regularly from Liverpool to Prescot, with journeys taking around 41 minutes depending on the route.
  • The school is easily accessible by car, with the Liverpool–Prescot route covering around 8 miles.

These excellent transport links make the role ideal for candidates across Liverpool, Knowsley, St Helens, and wider Merseyside.
