‍ General Teaching Assistant – PR8 (Southport)**

We are looking for a versatile General Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a welcoming PR8 primary school. The role will involve classroom assistance, small‑group work, and providing additional help to pupils who may require targeted support.

Most primary schools now have increasing numbers of children with additional needs, so experience or familiarity with SEN—even at a basic level—is highly valuable. You may support children with communication needs, mild ASC, attention difficulties or emotional regulation challenges.

Responsibilities Include:

Classroom support across KS1 or KS2
Helping pupils engage in learning throughout the day
Supporting pupils with low confidence or learning gaps
Providing SEN support where required
Supporting routines, transitions and behaviour expectations

Pay:

£13.75–£14.50 per hour (PAYE)

Requirements:

School-based TA experience or similar
Strong awareness of SEN and how to support additional needs
Confident building rapport with pupils
Relevant experience is required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
