English Graduate - Teaching Assistant

Wigan

A fantastic, partner secondary school in Wigan are looking to recruit an English graduate ASAP to join their English department to provide support as a Teaching Assistant.

You will become a full-time English Graduate Teaching Assistant to gain a variety of teaching experience, to help you decide if teaching is for you!

Highlights of the Teaching Assistant role:

-          English Graduate Teaching Assistant – November to January initially, likely to be extended 

-          Working in an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Wigan

-          Supporting pupils with KS3 and KS4 English (Literature and Language)

-          Earn GBP1140 per month!

-          School is located just outside of Wigan – very accessible from Bolton also.

-          Excellent opportunity for aspiring secondary teachers to gain invaluable experience!

The successful English Graduate Teaching Assistant will have the opportunity to influence the learning and development of secondary aged pupils who require additional support with English (Literature and Language)

 Responsibilities will include:

-          Supporting pupils who require additional support with English (grade borderline etc.)

-          Assisting teachers in the English department with lesson planning and preparation

-          Provide 1:1 tuition when necessary

-          Being a positive learning mentor for pupils and helping them reach their full potential

-          Previous experience working with young people is very desirable
